Special Opportunity for Summer Reading! Shrewsbury Public Schools’ Summer R.E.C.E.S.S. (Reading Everyday Can Ensure School Success) |
The Shrewsbury Public Schools, in partnership with the Shrewsbury
Public Library, will once again offer a special reading opportunity
for students entering grades K-6. This popular program, in its eleventh
year, attracted more than four hundred children last summer! All sessions correspond with the Summer Reading Booklist and the grade
level, which your child will enter in the fall. Interested students may enroll in one or more sessions to join in
a shared reading experience with a volunteer. A discussion and or creative
activity will follow. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.
Students are invited to attend one or more than one session, based
on their required book(s). Summer reading books will be available at local bookstores, and at
the Shrewsbury Public Library Children’s Room. Sixth grade summer reading
materials are located in the Young Adult Room. If your child is in
fourth, fifth or sixth grade, please assist your child in reading at
least the first chapter of the book before attending the session. Thank
you for your continued support of the Summer R.E.C.E.S.S. program! |
