Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission is composed of appointed town officials who serve as unpaid volunteers. The Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month for the conduct of regular business and for public hearings. When necessary, meetings may be scheduled on alternate dates. Contact the Conservation Commission office with questions regarding meeting schedules.

Planning Board

The Board meets with prospective developers, as well as working with developers on projects under construction to effect their completion. Under the auspices of the Board, Subdivision, Condominiums, and Commercial projects in the process of construction were inspected for conformity to approved plans.

The Board meets with the Master Plan Implementation Group to discuss possible zone changes, revisions, and additions, in accordance with recommendations of the Master Plan, which Town Meeting Members voted to accept as a guideline, at the 2001 Annual Town Meeting.

The Planning Board regular monthly meetings are on the first Thursday evening of each month at 7:00 P.M., in the Richard D. Carney Municipal Office Building. The Board may also hold special meetings.

Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals is established in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40A, Section 12, of the Massachusetts General Laws to hear and decide appeals relative to the administration of the Zoning Bylaw. The Board is empowered to grant relief from the literal enforcement of the bylaw and to issue special permits for the use of buildings or land as regulated therin. Public hearings are generally conducted on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:15PM in the Selectmen's Room, Richard D. Carney Municipal Office Building.
