| Every spring and fall, in conjunction with the changing
of your clocks in October and April
The fire department goes out about town to residences to install,
free of charge, new smoke detectors in homes of seniors that do
not have any protection. Along with this service, new batteries
are also changed out in your present detectors.
This is an entirely free service provided to protect our seniors.
There are no eligibility requirements. To sign up for the program,
visit the senior center during April or October and have your name,
address, and telephone number put on the list
The fire department will come during May and November and take
care of your needs. We ask that you help us when we arrive at your
home by completing a short survey that is required by the donor
of the smoke detectors.
Any other concerns that you may have relating to your safety in
your home can be checked out for you while the firefighters are
there. Please do take the opportunity to ask…there are no
obligations… we are there to help you!!!
