2007 Scholarship Recipient

The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library has awarded the 2007 Scholarship to Nicole Joy Godney. Nicole is a graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough. Nicole's parents are Bonnie and Donald Goodney of Oak Street, Shrewsbury.

Her winning essay, Benefits of a Library, speaks of how the Library "has brought upon me a love of books. I could go and be amazed at all the choices". Nicole stated that "There is nothing that can make a person go into a library but with all the wonderful things you can find and the very friendly staff why wouldn't you?

During Nicole's high school career, she was awarded a number of honors including Business Professionals of America, National Honor Society, Most outstanding Student in Business and the President's Achievement Scholarship.

Miss Goodney will be attending Nichols College in Dudley this fall with an accounting major.

The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library wish Nicole Joy Goodney and all the 2007 graduates a wonderful and successful future.
