Rules & Policies
On February 8, 1988, the Shrewsbury Parks and Cemetery Commission adopted
the following regulations for Dean Park
HOURS
The Park shall be closed nightly between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.
Trespassing during this time is prohibited.
VEHICLES
The speed limit on all park roads shall be 20 miles per hour. Motor vehicles
are restricted to designated roadways and parking areas. Snow and recreational
vehicles, as defined in Sec. 20 of Ch.90b G.L., are prohibited in the
park.
ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES
All alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the park.
CONDUCT
No person shall behave in any manner that will interfere with the use
and enjoyment of park facilities by the public.
CARE
OF PROPERTY
No person shall in any manner deface, damage or remove any item of park
property, equipment, building or fixture.
FIREARMS
AND FIREWORKS
Discharging of any firearm or fireworks upon or into the park property
is prohibited.
GOLFING
Golfing is prohibited in the park
HORSES
Horses are prohibited from grass areas.
POWER
TOOLS
The operation of power tools or equipment in the park by other than duly
authorized personnel is prohibited.
RUBBISH
AND LITTER
Receptacles provided in the park are for the disposal of only that refuse
which is generated as a consequence of park activity. Disposal of such
refuse in the park other than in designated receptacles is prohibited.
The deposit of household or other non-park refuse in park receptacles
or elsewhere on the park property is prohibited. Large groups must carry
out their own trash.
VEGETATION
The cutting, picking, up-rooting, breaking or otherwise altering or removing
of any tree, flower, shrub or other living vegetation in the park is prohibited.
VENDORS
All vendors are prohibited from operating on the park property.
WILDLIFE
The harassment, harming, trapping, killing or removal of any bird or animal
in or from the park is prohibited.
Report vandalism/broken equipment
Please report broken equipment or unsafe facilities to the office by calling
841-8503 or e-mail asnell@th.ci.shrewsbury.ma.us.
Residents are also encouraged to report vandalism to the Shrewsbury
Police Department.
