WORCESTER COUNTY SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM INC. (WCSART)

Notice to recreational Boaters and swimmers that use Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury. There is now a Vessel Water Rescue Safety Patrol currently operating on Lake Quinsigamond Saturdays & Sundays (only) starting at 12 noon to 7 p.m.

The Patrol vessel starts at the Corozinni State Boat ramp and circles the lake as far south to Flint Pond, Flint Pond area, then back. Each Patrol Vessel will be flying a Red Pennant, and all vessels will be monitoring VHF Marine band Radio Channel 16 (156.8Mhz) and UHF FRS (Family Service Radio) Channel 2 and 10. If you need assistance, please 'Flag' down the patrolling vessel with a visual aid, or call on one of the monitoring frequencies. Service runs from Memorial Day Weekend until Labor Day, and all special events out on Lake Quinsigamond.

Listen to the classical, patriotic, and popular tunes, watch the movement of the graceful fountains, and see the spectacular colors dance to the music. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 12:00-2:00 PM and 4:00-9:45 PM

Leash laws and pooper scooper laws as defined in town by laws are in effect in all town parks

PENALTY
Chapter 45: Section 24. Penalty for violation of rules and regulations made under authority of chapter Section 24. Whoever violates any rule or regulation for the government or use of any land or way taken or held under this chapter or for like purposes under any special act, and made under authority of law by any board or officer in charge thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than two hundred dollars.

OTHER RULES
Any state or local rules and by laws in existence shall also apply to park property.

Donahue Rowing Center
 
Features:
The Rowing Center offers public rental of racks for storage of shells. Organized classes and rowing activities are available for those teens and adults. The Donahue Rowing Center's Quarterdeck Club Room is available for group functions, seating 80 people banquet-style. Event planners should inquire with the Parks and Recreation Department for rates and availability.
