We'd like to introduce to all our families at Beal our program to replenish our school's Media Center. Due to tight budgets our Media Center is not allocated nearly enough to purchase the amount of books that is needed. As you all know, or will find out soon, "Media Time" is as popular with the children as gym time and the bus ride. Each week they visit the Media Center and are allowed to take a book home. Quite a big deal when you're five. The kids love it!

The PTO supports the Donate-A-Beal-Book program and provides the opportunity for parents to purchase books for our Media Center. Books are welcomed as a donation for special occasions such as:

• Birthdays
• Holidays
• Mother's and Father's Day
• Christmas and Hanukkah
• Teacher Appreciation
• New Babies
• In Memory of
• Just Because We Love Beal

You may come to the Media Center and choose one, or you may view them in the display case near the office. You may also fill out the form return it in your child's backpack, and a book will be selected for you. A label is placed in the book inscribed as you wish. Your child is then allowed to be the first one to borrow the donated book with the special book label inside.

This program is a wonderful way to celebrate and show our children that we value your childs birthday reading and sharing books. Should you choose to donate a book for your child's birthday, the special book will be read by the teacher at snack time on the day you wish. The child will be given a birthday sticker and bookmark. They will also be allowed to borrow the book first to share at home.
