• Sign-ups start on Tuesday September 2nd and end on Friday, September 5th. All students must sign-up in homeroom on these dates.

• All students who sign up for cross-country need to attend a mandatory informational meeting on Monday, September 8th, after school until 3:30pm. Please arrange the pickup time for 3:30pm.

• Medical forms must be picked up in the Nurse’s Office. They are to be filled out and returned by Friday, September 12th to participate in the program.

• Practice begins Wednesday, September 17th. Students should have clothes and shoes to run in. They should also have water bottles.

•Students will be required to purchase a t-shirt. The cost of the shirts are $10.00.

• Practices will be from 2:50pm – 4:00pm on Monday – Thursday. There may be a couple Friday’s included as well. All students must arrange for a ride home from practice by 4:00pm everyday! They need to be picked up at the gym entrance of Oak Middle School. The coaches have other obligations to be at after 4:00pm. Please do not be late.

• All students must attend practice everyday unless they have an excused absence. If you are absent you need to bring a note in from your parents the next practice explaining why you missed. Students who need to be excused from practice must make prior arrangements with the coaches. If the practice is missed or unexcused, students may be asked to leave the team.

• Once practice begins, we will hand out a schedule that will list all the meets. The meet schedule can also be found on.highschoolsports.net. This will also give you the directions to all away meets.

• There will be approximately six meets that will start in the month of October. Some are away and some are home. All runners will participate in home meets, and away meets will be determined by the number of buses available.

• All students that have signed up are encouraged to run on their own. They should run at least 15-30 minutes a day depending on ability, starting slow and progressing up to 30 minutes, if possible.

• Students that have not filled out and handed in the necessary paperwork, by the given date, will not be allowed to participate. Also, the $50 fee for activities must be paid by September 30th for participation to continue.

• We expect our athletes to act appropriately at all times. They are representing Oak Middle School and it is a privilege to be a part of the team. Any misbehavior that interferes with our team will not be tolerated. That athlete may be asked to leave the team.

• The season will end at the end of October with the Invitational.
