Would you like to help your fellow students deal with
conflict in a productive way? Rather than the rumors, shouting, or fights.
Mediation is a safe and very beneficial way to resolve conflict.
THIS GROUP WILL HELP STUDENTS DEAL WITH:
Conflict Resolution
Bullying
Problem Solving
OUR GOAL FOR 2008- 2009 IS TO:
Train Peer Helper to be effective peer mediators
Help identify areas of concern among students
Help to create a positive school climate
SKILLS NEEDED:
Good Listening
Desire to help others
Commitment to make OMS a better place
Good problem solving skills
Can keep information confidential
If you are interested in applying to be a STAR
Peer Mediator, download the application form. One monthly meeting
is required on Tuesday after school.
All applications are due October 1, 2008. Please return them
to the folder in the main office or to Mrs. Nikula in room 108.
Training session schedule will be announced after interview process is complete.
