Dear Parents and Students,
The mission of the SHS media center is to serve our community, students and
staff. One of the ways we do this is by providing access to up-to-date materials,
both print and electronic, to support the curriculum of the high school and
to provide an opportunity to engage in authentic academic research. As a result,
we are constantly looking to expand our existing collection with materials
that support curriculum changes, new topics of interest to our community,
and the necessary supplements to existing sets.
In a time of tight budgets, this becomes increasingly hard to achieve. As
a result, we are looking at a variety of ways to expand our support. One of
these ways is to launch a donate-a-book program here at the high school. This
program will enable members of our community to help our library continue
to grow and provide for the research needs of the students at SHS. Please
consider donating in memory of loved ones, for significant occasions in your
lives, to thank a favorite teacher, or just because you want to help. Please
download a form by
clicking here.
The library staff will have new books on hand from which to choose. They will
also maintain a want list of needed materials.
We would like to thank you in advance for any help you can give us as we strive
to develop life-long learners, capable researchers and the informed citizens
of tomorrow. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Claire Donovan and Dawn Vigliatura
