Shrewsbury High School Academics

GUIDANCE

Dear Students and Parents,

Now is a great time to prepare for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).  This exam requires more skill in mathematics, critical reading, comprehension and writing.

The Shrewsbury High School Fall SAT Prep Course will be offered from Saturday, October 20th (1st Practice test) through December 19th  (see attached schedule for complete dates and times).  Classes will meet on Wednesdays and continue for a total of eight consecutive sessions.  Classes are small to allow a great deal of individual attention.  Enrollment is strictly on a first-come first-served basis.  Students also take two full-length SAT's, which provide reinforcement for skills taught during the course and test taking experience.

Our program is very special because of the quality of instruction.  Teachers provide training that addresses skills as well as strategies useful for success on the SAT.  If a student makes a commitment to practice by doing the required homework, attending all eight classes, and taking the practice exams, his/her scores will increase significantly.

Please send completed applications and checks made out to SHS SAT Prep Course to: Shrewsbury High School, Attn: Gerald O'Connell, 64 Holden Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 by October 15th. Questions can be directed to me at 508-841-8852 or at Goconnell@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us.

Sincerely,

Gerald (PJ) O'Connell
