Average:
Will I Have a Friend? by Mirriam Cohen
A boy's anxieties on his first day of school are happily forgotten when he makes a new friend.


Challenging:

A House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle
A hermit crab who has outgrown his old shell moves into a new one, which he decorates and enhances with the various sea creatures he meets in his travels.

Fiction:

Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet Ahlberg
