APPLICATION
PROCESS:
Please mail the following: letter of application, resume, three written
letters of reference, copies of undergraduate and (if applicable) graduate
transcripts, copy of teacher certification/license (for new graduates who
have not yet received their license, please send evidence of successful
completion of the Massachusetts Teacher Educator License tests). For individuals
applying from out of state who are not yet licensed in Massachusetts, please
include a copy of your current state license and include reference to the
status of your Massachusetts licensure application. Please submit information

SELECTION
PROCESS: Building principals and department directors/coordinators
will be reviewing applications on an on-going basis. If you are selected
for an interview you will be contacted by the appropriate principal/director/coordinator.
In addition, due to the large volume of applications, it is not unusual
for a preliminary telephone interview to be held prior to finalizing the
candidate's that will be invited into the district to meet with the interview
team. The interview process in Shrewsbury is inclusive with administrators,
teachers, and parents serving on the interview team. In addition, for
high school positions, students will also be involved. After the interviews
are completed a small group of finalists will be invited back to conduct
a demonstration lesson in a classroom setting. A individual will then
be identified as the successful candidate. The successful candidate will
then have a final interview with the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Anthony
J. Bent, and the Director of Human Resources, Mr. Thomas M. Kennedy.

Special Education Teacher / Testing
Learning Center
Skills:

0844– Clinical Coordinator - Special Education Department
- Reporting to the Director
of Special Education/Pupil Personnel Services, this position will utilize
effective research based practices that enhance the district’s educational
programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide direct clinical consultation to each of the schools
• Provide clinical support to the Early Learning Center Coordinators
and ABA Technicians
• Lead a peer review to ensure consistency in clinical programming across
the district and utilization of research-based practices, including Functional
Behavior Assessments and the development of Positive Behavior Support programs.
• Develop protocols for reliability, data collection, and accountability
• Develop assessment protocols, criteria for direct service delivery
(1:1, therapies, etc), and criteria for fading of direct support services
• Support teachers and aides directly in the classroom as the district
moves to a service delivery model that responds to instruction and intervention
• Provide in-home support services and supervision to staff providing
direct service in the home.
• Ensure compliance training and support relative to the new SLD (Specific
Learning Disability) eligibility requirements
• Provide support to summer programs across the district
• Service an identified group of students requiring intensive clinical
support in the classroom
• Assist in the development of a program service delivery model that
responds to the district’s commitment for implementing response to intervention
programming
• Coordinate and lead child study teams related to referrals, patterns,
and reasons for shifts in service delivery

- Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Special Education
Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
as a Special Education teacher
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with
students, staff, and parents
Experience working with students on the autism spectrum in a public school
setting
Experience working with students with clinical challenges in a public school
setting
Flexibility to attend evening meetings and provide late afternoon/evening
in-home support through parent training
Working knowledge of special education regulations/processes

- Work Year/Compensation:
Work Year includes the 185-day school year plus up to 30 days of work in the
summer to support students and staff. This position is covered under the Unit
A collective bargaining agreement. Teacher salary schedule.

CHILD SPECIFIC
AIDES
Immediate vacancies for several full-time positions.
Pay range $10.00 - $13.50 per hour plus benefits.

Speech Assistants
Prefer full time, but will consider part time. This is a school year position
responsible for providing direct services under the direction of a licensed
speech therapist. Bachelor's degree required in Communication Disorders. Excellent
opportunity for individual working towards Speech Pathologist License. $16 -
18 per hour.

Elementary and Middle Schools
Special
Education The district serves 1005 students
with various ranges of disabilities. Based upon enrollment growth and program
expansion we anticipate hiring at the following levels. High School: Learning
Center Teacher (moderate disabilities). Middle Schools: Learning Center Teachers
(moderate disabilities); Life Sills / ABA - prefer intensive Special Education
License. Speech Pathologists (full-time or part-time). Elementary: Speech Pathologists
(full-time or part-time); Autism Specialist (the district services 50 students
on the autism spectrum from pre-school to grade 12. Due to enrollment growth
we are adding a new position at the elementary level. Prefer intensive special
needs license along with experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
Middle
School and Elementary Substitute Teachers Middle School
and Elementary Substitute Teachers Oak (grades 7 & 8) / Sherwood (grades
5 & 6) Middle School's and our Elementary School's seek substitute teachers.
Compensation $65 per day, BA required to serve as a substitute teacher in the
classroom (minimum high school diploma to serve as an instructional or child

High
School Substitute Teachers The high school is seeking applicants
to serve as on-call substitute teachers. Daily compensation is $65 per day.
Bachelor’s degree required. The school hours at the high school school
are 7:10 a.m. To 1:50 p.m. We are interested in individuals who are available
4-5 days a week as well as applicants who might be available only 1-2 days per
week. Applications are available at the school department’s central office,
which is located in Town Hall, 100 Maple Avenue. The office is located in the
Town Hall Building.
