the Board? |
| |
|
Write a letter to the Board of Selectman,
or send an email to selectmen@th.ci.shrewsbury.ma.us.
The letter will be reviewed under the "communications" portion
of the next public Monday meeting. The Board will then discuss, and
if necessary, act on the issue. Anonymous letters will not be placed

All the Board of Selectmen's meeting
are open to any of the public, and must be posted at least 2 days
in advance at the Town Hall. The Board may hold "executive
session" closed door meetings after the public meeting is opened,
but only for a few specific reasons, such as considering the purchase

6. |
How much of a time commitment is
involved for a Selectman? |
| |
|
Selectmen are expected to attend two
Board of Selectmen meetings each month. These meeting run about
2-3 hours each. Attendance is also often required at various committee/
advisory meetings and hearings, especially during budget times in
Feb/March. The Town holds an average of 1-3 town meetings per year,
which the Selectmen must attend. In addition, Selectmen are often
asked to participate in special occasions, Memorial Day and Veterans
Day celebrations, and the Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival. A
large time commitment is requried, so please don't run for Selectman
if you can't serve.
