1. What is Norton AntiVirus?
Norton AntiVirus is a software package from Symantec that
provides automated virus protection. Real-time protection reduces
the risk of viruses reaching the system, while automatic removal
enables easy disposal of security risks. Potential virus threats
are automatically submitted for analysis to Symantec Security Response,
which provides repair and response content. Advanced behavior blocking
prevents client systems from being used for malicious outbound activities,
such as sending worms via email. LiveUpdate™ technology provides
a single update to protect from viruses.

2. Can I buy Norton AntiVirus
from TownISP if I already have an antivirus program?
Yes, you can. However, TownISP requires that you uninstall any
existing antivirus software before installing Norton AntiVirus
to ensure the system works properly. If you are currently using
a different antivirus software package, you are welcome to continue
to use that software as long as it is up to date.
TownISP highly recommends installing antivirus software on your
system if you are not currently using any. Protecting you system
against viruses is vital to keeping your system running smoothly
and protecting your data.

3. Why do some people get
Norton AntiVirus V.10 and others get Norton AntiVirus V.9?
The version of Norton AntiVirus sent to your email is dependent
on your Windows Operating System version. Norton AntiVirus V.10
only works on Windows 2000 or newer, so anyone operating Windows
98 will require Norton AntiVirus V.9.

4. What happens if I order
Norton AntiVirus through SELCO/TownISP and then decide I don't want
it anymore?
There is a minimum one-year commitment when you purchase Norton
AntiVirus through TownISP. If you cancel your subscription or
move out of town before your first year of monthly payments is
over, you will be billed the remaining balance in one lump sum.

5. Why do I have to purchase
a separate Norton AntiVirus license for each computer?
Symantec has given TownISP permission to distribute their software
based on a certain number of licenses. TownISP is required to
report the number of licenses in circulation to its customers
to ensure the requirements of Symatec's user agreement are being
met. Each license is only allowed to be installed on one computer,
so to use Norton AntiVirus software on more than one computer
you must purchase multiple licenses.

6. I'm a TownISP customer,
but I use a different email address. Why do I have to use a TownISP
email address to receive the Norton AntiVirus link?
We require a TownISP email account so we can insure that the
software is being delivered only to TownISP customers. Using TownISP
email addresses for delivery of Norton AntiVirus also allows for
internal accounting of all licenses distributed.

7. Why do I have to know the
operating system for each computer I want to install Norton AntiVirus
on?
Norton AntiVirus V.10 only works on Windows 2000 or newer, so
anyone operating Windows 98 will require Norton AntiVirus V.9.
By providing us with your Operating System information, you ensure
that the correct version of Norton AntiVirus is sent to your email
and potential installation and operating problems are avoided.
